Fashion Shoot

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

We busy preparing for the forth-coming bridal fashion shoot.

The shoot will be on Tuesday 10th March (just before Mark heads off for Vegas for this years WPPI convention) and will showcase the designer gowns from White Dresses and Tiaras who are based in East Sussex.

The models are supplied from Toni and Guy in Knightsbridge - who will also be taking care of the hair and make up. Many thanks go to Shona who is organising this side of things.

The venue for the shoot is the recently refurbished Felbridge Hotel nr East Grinstead, East Sussex.
Look out for some of the photos on the blog later on in March.

A busy week at the Studio (and beyond)

Wednesday, February 27th, 2008

This week has been extremely busy with photoshoots and online orders from previous clients.
Mark spent a couple of days at the Focus exhibition at the NEC. He was impressed with the new acrylic prints so look out to see these soon at our studio. Also there were some interesting canvases that caught his eye.
Pam, in the meantime has been to Olympia to the National Wedding Show. There was everything there from teeth whitening to glorious wedding gowns. Cakes and novelties, the best being a chap dressed in a Roman toga. Not quite sure what he was selling but it was something to do with mosaics.

Did you know?

Did you know that Mark is also a budding author?
His passion for bikes and his experience photographing American Landscapes has spurred him on to write two seperate books about these two different avenues. Mark hopes these will be publishes later this year. I will keep you posted.

Catching up

Saturday, December 1st, 2007

It’s been a busy time here at the studio over the last three or four weeks - hence the blog hasn’t been updated recently.

The cut off dates for getting prints back from the lab, getting frames made and our ordering our handmade albums have all passed. As usual there were one or two orders that we’ve managed to squeeze in before the final deadlines.

So what have we been up to ?

We attended the Eltham Palace open day, were all of Eltham Palace’s preferred suppliers are invited to meet prospective bride and grooms who have booked or are planning thier wedding at Eltham Palace.

Eltham Palace is one of our favourite venues to work at, it has fanatastic grounds and stunning interiors, which make an excellent back drop for photography. The open day is a great opportunity to meet couples in a relaxed atmosphere and discuss what the would like from thier wedding photographs.

PS Here’s a link from Bloomsbury Video to one of our wedding we shot at Eltham Palace earlier this year http://www.MaleneandShariffsWedding.com <http://www.maleneandshariffswedding.com

We have been busy in the studio photographing families, babies and couples for Christmas presents. We then have to show clients their photographs, order the prints and frames and assemble these ready for collection.

We’ve shot the front cover for a new and soon to be released fashion magazine. We’ll post more on this once the first edition is out.

We’ll update you with some more information later- but for now it’s back to work!

Australia 2007

Tuesday, November 20th, 2007

As many of you will know, I’ve been off on holiday visiting friends in Australia (including some I’d not seen for nearly 17 years!)

Anyway a lot of you have asked to see some of the photographs, so here’s a brief preview there will be more in the gallery shortly!

Our trip included eight flights, about 2000 miles, four ferry rides and a high speed catamaran ride. We managed to cram in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Ayers Rock, Cairns,Green Island, Brisbane and back to Sydney.

A few from Sydney,

Sydney Harbour Bridge

Sydney Opera House

When we arrived at Mermbula we were still a bit jet lagged, so was we were up early and were lucky to spot some whales.

Exciting news!
Mark has been awarded the prestigious ‘Events Photographer of the Year 2007′ by the Master Photography Association.
The shot that won Mark this ‘Gong’ was a stunning moving motorbike image of Valentino Rossi taken at Donnington Park this year.
Due to Mark being away on vacation, his assistant Pam had the pleasure of travelling to Newcastle to the black tie awards event staged at the Hilton Hotel, to collect the award from Tony Hadley of Spandau Ballet Fame.

British Superbikes - 25th-27th August 2007

Wednesday, September 5th, 2007

After the wedding of Michala and Damion, we set off on an exhausting five hour drive to the Bennetts British Superbikes Championship in Cadwell Park. Arriving at our hotel for an overnight stay I was keen to make an early start having never photographed at Cadwell Park before. I set off in good time to have a look at the best vantage points for photographing the racing.

The circuit is tight and twisty and has a section called the mountain where the bikes actually take off over the top of it.

Photos from the weekend can be seen in the gallery.

World Superbikes Sunday 5th August 2007 Brands Hatch

Thursday, August 23rd, 2007

So where was the biggest sporting crowd this weekend?

Was it at the new Wembley for the charity shield match between Chelsea and Manchester Utd? or was it at Twickenham for the rugby world cup warm up match England v Wales?

Well actually is was neither of these two.

The biggest crowd this weekend was at Brands Hatch in Kent watching the World Superbike Championship.

World Superbikes - Silverstone 25th-27th May 2007

Slip sliding at Silverstone in the rain !!!!!!!!

This weekend we were at Silverstone photographing the World Superbikes. The season has started well for Britians James Toseland and the Hannspree Ten Kate Honda team. James lead the championship going into the weekend, by a clear 35 points despite his closest rival Nori Haga taking an impressive race winning double at Monza two weeks ago.

Saturdays practice and superpole qualifying in near perfect conditions, saw the usual suspects on the pace from the word go.

Defending champion Troy Bayliss seemingly fully recovered from his injuries at Donnington Park at the end of March (including the loss of most of his little finger on his right hand) set a new lap record and took pole position for Sundays races.Troy Bayliss WBSK Silverstone 2007
