Friday night saw the Kast Off Kinks, play live at the Boom Boom Club,Sutton,Surrey.

The trio of Kast Off Kinks members comprise, bass player John Dalton (June 66, officially joined, 1969-78), drummer Mick Avory (1964-1987) and keyboard player John Gosling (1970-1978).

The line-up is completed by former Tim Rose sideman Dave Clarke for a best of The Kinks evening.

Somewhat surprisingly, they have more hit records than you remember, such as Dedicated Follower of Fashion, Lola, Sunny Afternoon, Dead End street, Waterloo Sunset and many more and these were all palyed over a two part set.

What’s happened this week ?

Filed under: Weddings — Mark at 10:20 pm on Wednesday, February 21, 2007

The landscape exhibition at the clocktower library, Croydon, Surrey finished this week - many thanks to everyone who took time out to come and see this exhibition. Unfortunately we couldn’t have an official opening night as the library closes at 6.00pm!

Our next exhibition will be of photographs from our trip to Cuba last year and we have some great photos to show from that trip. In fact we loved Cuba so much we planning on heading back there towards the end of next year(2008). Many people have asked can we buy any of the prints on display and the answer is yes ! Just follow the link to the customer area on the main site and browse the galleries. All you need to do is login and create an account.

Sunday the 18th, Mark was at the Surrey Downs GC in Kingswood, Surrey. This was the first open day held at the club and we were asked to exhibit as we are the clubs recommeded photographer. Unlike most wedding fairs and open day this was only for selected and exclusive service providers to the club. Mark has worked with many of the suppliers who were there and it was great to catch up with Liz and Margret from Amante of Reigate, Surrey (one of Mark’s favourite wedding dress suppliers) but it was also great to meet some new vendors as well, who we hope to work with in the near future.

The Studio has been realtively quiet this week (by our standards !), we have shot several actors portfolios and seen quite a few clients, but no weddings this week. The finishing touches to Mark’s panel of prints and all necessary forms have finally been completed for his application for Associate of the Master Photographers Association (the only association for full time professional photographers). Fingers crossed for April when his panel is judged!

Graham & Sema 9th February 2007 Langshott Manor

Congratulations to Graham and Sema.

This Friday Mark was at langshott Manor for Graham and Sema’s wedding.

Mark has known Graham for around seventeen years, so this was an unusual wedding in as much as that he was a guest as well as one of four photographers attending the wedding!

Everyone was hoping that the snow would stay around for a little longer, as it would have been fantastic to have a “snowy” back drop for the photographs in the grounds but unfortunately it didn’t.

Sadly the snow arrived on the wrong day for some of Sema’s family including her bridesmaids. They were due to fly into Luton Airport on Thursday but the airport was closed and they were unable to arrange an alternative flight in time for the wedding.

But the great thing about the internet is that they will be able to see the photographs in the customer area of our website in a day or so.

Back in full swing

Filed under: Information — Gareth at 12:21 pm on Wednesday, February 7, 2007

With Christmas and the New Year well and truely behind us now, the Studio is back in full swing. Our new viewing room is now finished and looks great (we’ll post some pictures here shortly). January has flown by, Mark only managed to have two days off throughout the whole of the month - with all bar one weekend taken up with wedding fairs. Almost all of the of the late night appointments in January were taken up meeting prospective wedding clients.

This month, is a busy again. We have back to back weddings this week- on Friday the 9th Mark is at Langshott Manor for Graham and Sema’s wedding and the following day Mark and Gareth are at Kingswood GC for David and Louisa’s wedding.

We also have two open days at the Alexander House on Sunday 25th and Kingswood GC Sunday 18th (Mark is the recommended photographer for both these venues) so feel free to pop along and say hi !

Our “Baby books ” continue to be very popular, with numerous enquiries and sitting this month, in addition to our regular portrait work.

We will be adding some new products and pages to our website over the next week, so remember to check back and have a look at the changes
